I received my Associate’s Degree from Hutchinson Community College, Bachelor’s Degree from Wichita State University, and Master’s Degree from Wichita State University. As a child at the age of twelve, I knew God wanted me to be a missionary, but it took over fifty years for that to become a reality. After retirement, God worked it out for me to go to Manila on a missions trip, and at that time revealed to me that it wasn’t too late, I could still be a missionary, using my education as a teacher to reach others. Hobbies and Interests:Following the activities of fourteen grandchildren when I’m in the US.

Works in the Aerospace & Space Industries as a Delivery Assurance Specialist. Currently enrolled in Biblical Studies at Louisiana Baptist University. Lyza : Born in Quezon City, Philippines. Youngest of 3 sisters.Graduated from Colegio de San Juan de Letran, Manila, Philippines with a Bachelors Degree in Communication Arts. MIKE & LYZA THOMSON Children: Emili and AbbiArea of Focus: Education Background: Christi and I are both high school teachers that have led short-term mission trips from our home church to Central America for the last seven years. I also serve as the Jr. High Pastor for my home church, Family Fellowship of Greenville, where my wife is my irreplaceable assistant.Hobbies and Interests: We both love to read, travel, enjoy movies, and spending lots of time with our kids!

TREVOR & CHRISTI MCNELLIS Area of Focus: I focus on developing and expanding the IT infrastructure of Global Surge while doing livelihood training in the community. My wife focuses on promoting drug free zones through dance and drama.Background: I have been involved with IT since the age of 12, pursuing this interest through high school, and then studying Computer Science at Washburn University. I am certified in hardware repair, networking and various Microsoft Products. My wife has been involved with dance and drama since the age of 13, although she has a degree in Civil Engineering, she continues to follow her passion in working with the youth. Hobbies and Interests: In my spare time I enjoy doing circuit design, automotive tinkering and amateur racing. In addition I enjoy reading anything and everything because knowledge is power. Joy enjoys long walks on the beach, paintballing, and telling me what to do.

BEN & JOY WHITFORD Area of Focus: EducationBackground: Jordan was born and raised in Hutchinson, KS. JORDAN & NIKKI NISLY Children: ScottArea of Focus: Luke & Kelly Lyons are the founders of Impacting Asia, started in 2007 to help bring together groups interested in exposure to foreign cultures with the opportunity to impact lives. After being exposed to the many opportunities in the Philippines, they decided to leave behind successful careers and dedicate their lives to helping others. Luke will be working to train and mentor leaders in the community. He is already fluent in the Filipino language and a skilled communicator. Their commitment now is to Inspire, Influence, and Impact as many lives as they can!Background: Both Luke & Kelly had the privilege of being able to be raised in foreign cultures. This has given them both a unique blend of both American and Asian backgrounds to allow them to be able to work with many different nationalities. Hobbies and Interests: Luke is an avid tennis player, cook and enjoys golf, motorcycles, scuba diving, and outdoor recreations. Kelly enjoys traveling and exploring new countries and destinations. LUKE & KELLY LYONS Area of Focus: Kidz JAM Background: Cory grew up in Metro Manila. With his eyes wide open he realized that the next generation was headed downhill. His desire is to train and educate children to help protect them from a life of drugs or alcoholism. CORY & JESSIE LYONS Children: We have six children, Tara and her husband James Dohrmann, Jon and his wife Nicole Akers, both our older children reside in the USA; Sam, Alison, Julia and Laura live with us in the Philippines Area of Focus: World Impact Camps, College Professor, , Logistics & Procurement, Contract Negotiation, Mentoring Programs, and Livelihood Projects in the Philippines. Background: Roger & Tammy were married in 1982, have six children and operated a successful business in the US. They met visionary Greg Lyons and his wife LuAnn in Florida in 2003 and have been in the Philippines since 2004. Hobbies and Interests: golf, snow skiing, reading, church and our children.

ROGER & TAMMY AKERS Disaster Relief - Global Surge is one of the first responders when disaster strikes. We provide hands-on assistance to victims, coordinate international relief efforts, and follow-up communities who suffer such calamities. In recent years, Global Surge personnel have served over 8,000 families with much needed relief goods and assistance.

Drug & Violence Prevention - Global Surge intervention programs have helped thousands of young people overcome addictions. In partnership with non-government organization, Global Surge provides alternatives to gang life, offering freedom from a life of violence and no future. Currently Global Surge efforts are impacting over 1,000 young people annually.

Children: Reece Area of Focus: Our focus is to reach young people with the Truth through the art of illusion. Other efforts: teaching college classes, leadership development. Marc is also the Marketing Coordinator for Global Surge. Background: Jessica and Marc are the founders of Honest Deceiver Ministries. In 2005, Marc obtained a B.S. in Biology pre-med before working at a pharmaceutical company for three years. He obtained a Masters degree in Religion in 2010 from Liberty University. Jessica grew up in the Philippines as a missionary kid and is currently pursuing her higher education.Hobbies and Interests:Marc enjoys playing golf, reading, performing magic, and a good cup of coffee. Impact FEEDING CENTERSGlobal Surge Feeding Centers are providing hope and nourishment for hungry children in Metro Manila, Philippines. For many of the children, the feeding center provides their only hot meal of the day. Our feeding centers are an outreach that we utilize to connect to families, build relationships, and change lives.

KIDZ JAMOur Kidz JAM fun trucks are specially modified to grab kids attention, entertain, and communicate with them on their level. Using a small pickup truck we build a puppet stage on the bed, give it a portable sound system and some kids songs and we’re ready to hit the road!

IMPACT CAMPSLast year our camps reached over 85,000 people in four different countries. Over 30,000 made a decision to change their life by following Jesus Christ. Our International Camp Training Team (ICT) is now training other organizations how to conduct Global Surge style camps.

Influence Implementing multi-level programs, Global Surge equips partners with practical tools that will carry them through life.YOUNG PEOPLEMoral Value Camps & Retreats influence young people to make moral life choices that will benefit their lives. Our world seeks to use and abuse young people for personal gain, whereas Global Surge sponsored camps and retreats are a voice of stability and purpose for those who choose to attend. All of Global Surge sponsored camps and retreats are open to any young person who desires to participate.Vertical Leadership Training calls young people to a higher level of living! More than education, this mentoring program equips partners to be business, civic, and community leaders. Seminars, retreats, and mentoring groups all contribute to developing leadership qualities in the young person.Livelihood Training programs are available to the general public. In cooperation with government and other non-profit organizations, Global Surge provides a variety of modules equipping participants with marketable job skills. Areas of training range from cell phone repair, service industry jobs, massage therapy, home business models, and many more.CHILDRENGlobal Surge Feeding Centers provide first level solutions to malnourished children. Realizing that nutrition is vital in early childhood development, this effort increases the potential for a child to succeed in school.Kidz JAM after school programs provide a consistent positive influence for children by instilling moral values early in life.
